    (1823-May 21, 1860)
    Railroad construction foreman
    Employed in Cavendish, Vermont
    Injured by an iron tamping rod that shot through his head (1848)
    Rod was 1¼ inches in diameter at 3 foot 7 inches long
    Survived injury but lost his left eye
    Developed drastic personality changes

Why he might be annoying:

    He was allegedly distracted by a co-worker just before the charge was set off that accidentally launched the rod.
    The incident caused damages to the frontal lobes and other brain sections.
    His emotions and behavior were severely altered.
    He became easily irritability, impatience and use profanity profusely.
    He was fired due to his hostile personality.
    He allegedly made appearances at P.T. Barnum's New York City museum (1850).
    He worked for about seven years as a coach driver in Chile before his death.
    He was buried with the aforementioned tamping rod.
    His injury indirectly inspired a problematic surgery technique called the frontal lobotomy.

Why he might not be annoying:

    Consider the severity of the injury he made a fast physical recovery.
    The rod missed many vital areas of his brain.
    Before the accident, he was kind, intelligent, hardworking and athletic.
    Some reports of his post-injury behavior have been exaggerated.
    His accident led to theories about the brains effect on human behavior and personality (specifically the frontal lobes).
    His skull and the tamping rod are displayed at the Harvard Medical School's Warren Anatomical Museum in Boston, Massachusetts.
