Biblical Character

The Resume

Resided in, on, or near the Wall of Jericho
Referenced in the Bible in the book of Joshua and Hebrews
Famed for hiding two Israelite spies in her inn so they could gather 'intelligence' prior to the Battle of Jericho
She, and her family, were the only Canaanites to survive the Battle of Jericho

Why she might be annoying:

The vast majority of biblical scholars believe she was a prostitute.
She possibly operated a brothel or whorehouse.
She turned her back on her own people by providing refuge for those who eventually destroyed Jericho and killed everybody in it.
She pleaded for her own life and those of her family, but apparently, didn't have the same concern for her neighbors.
She was a liar (lying to representatives of the King about housing spies).

Why she might not be annoying:

Some biblical scholars argue she wasn't a prostitute (based on a different translation of her name).
    She was obedient to God.
She's listed as a direct ancestor of both Jesus Christ and King David.
Her story is used as an example of God's redemptive power.
She's a popular figure in illustrated Bible stories for children.
