(1935), 'Fury' (1936), 'Mother Carey's Chickens' (1938), 'Room Service' (1938), 'Wake Island' (1942), 'O, My Darling Clementine' (1943), 'Rosie the Riveter' (1944), 'Nightfall' (1957), 'The Last Hurrah' (1958), 'Psycho' (1960) and 'Bye Bye Birdie' (1963)

    He briefly used the pseudonym James Cruze before going back to his real name.
    He was typecast early in his career as a 'perpetual juvenile.'
    Several movie trivia books erroneously claim that he and Jack Albertson are brothers.
