Why he might be annoying:

    He became vilified in Boston after he signed with the Yankees six weeks after he helped the Red Sox win the World Series.
    He refuses to divulge any information about his life outside of baseball.
    He was initially drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 23rd round of the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft, but refused to sign a contract and re-entered the draft three years later.
    He was injury prone during the early stages of his career.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is the first full blood Navajo player in Major League history.
    He returned from a freak injury the previous season to post one of his best statistical seasons, earning him AL Comeback Player of the Year honors (2011).
    He earned two World Series rings as a member of the Red Sox (2007, 2013).
    Upon signing with the Yankees, he took out a full page in the Boston paper thanking the fans for their support during his tenure with the Red Sox.
