Henry Ephron described her as 'the sort of girl you want to squeeze.'
She struggled to find her niche with American audiences.
She had an affair with Rossano Brazzi during the filming of Certain Smile.
Allegedly, when Jean Negulesco broke the news of the affair to Brazzi's wife, she nonchalantly asked: 'what took him so long?'
Her contract for 'Mardi Gras' included the clause that she be allowed to wear the featured graduation ballgown at unrelated public appearances (the studio relented on the grounds she use the dress to plug the picture).

She was discovered at 15 by landmark woman director, Jacqueline Audry, who cast her in her maiden directorial effort ('Olivia').
For the lead role in 'A Certain Smile,' 20th Century Fox originally planned on hosting a worldwide talent search for the right girl.
However, when executives saw her in the French-language 'Don Juan,' they halted plans for the search and signed her immediately after the screen test.
She barely spoke English when she arrived in Hollywood, and had to learn her lines phonetically for her London screen test.
She played the challenging role of a female double agent in 'Blue Light,' which some critics randomly blamed for the show's failure.
She opted to retire from her movie career to focus on being a mother to her two sons.
