Why they might be annoying:

If the Captain and Tennille had a mind for medieval folklore…
They freely admit to being ‘adult children.’
They are allergic to the sun… which explains part of the story behind their name.
They signed with Universal Music in 2008… and wished they hadn’t.

Why they might not be annoying:

They are not fans of corporate-driven music.
They were classmates at a music school founded by Paul McCartney, thrown together when she was running late and everyone else in their songwriting class had partnered up.
Their sound drew comparisons to Enya and Bjork.
Their moniker was inspired by a visit to a Norwegian forest. Then, to make sure no one else had the name already, they searched online… and found some weird coincidences between them and the characters from the English village of Woolpit.
Their foundation was, ahem, instrumental in the creation of an eye hospital in Bangladesh (proceeds from ‘Hear Me Now’ fund the facility).
Sunde on signing with Universal Motown: ‘I would never recommend signing with a major label if you are eager to get your music out to the world.’ (They subsequently signed with Jackson Browne’s subsidiary label.)
