The Resume

    (circa July 17, 1987- )
    Born in Chicago, Illinois
    Birth name is Jeremih Felton
American recording artist and producer with Def Jam Recordings
Released albums 'Jeremih' (2009), 'All About You' (2010), and 'Late Nights' (2015)
Singles include 'Birthday Sex,' 'Break Up to Make Up,' 'Imma Star (Everywhere We Are),' 'I Like,' 'Down on Me,' 'All the Time,' and 'Don't Tell 'Em'

Why he might be annoying:

It is incorrectly assumed that his real name is Jeremiah and that he dropped the '-a' just to 'be different,' but its his actual name.
He had his braces removed because he felt they took away from his good looks as an advanced college Freshman (he relied on Invisalign as a result).
His dorm roommates glued his door shut when he lifted their Grand Theft Auto video game, leading him to jump out of his dorm window three floors down just to get out.
His license was revoked for two years when the police pulled him over and found him in possession of a fake ID used to gain entry into nightclubs.
He admitted that the only thing he learned from the incident was to get better quality fake IDs in the future (the first one had a photo of a 30-year-old man).
His first album was self-titled, and his first major single had an inappropriate title (originally 'Birthday Text,' it gradually morphed into 'Birthday Sex').
He recorded a holiday single for Medea's Family Christmas Album; 'You're Mine' (nothing says 'Merry Christmas' like a possessive boyfriend).
He claimed that 'Birthday Sex' was based on his own birthday experience, openly wondering why a song like that 'hadn't been written yet.'
Controversy ensued when he was chosen by Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and Chicago Public Schools (CPS) to represent their 2009 'Back-to-School' initiative, with parent groups predictably claiming that his music 'promotes teen sex' and 'sets a bad example.'
CPS countered the criticism by arguing that protesters would be 'naive' to think that Chicago kids didn't listen to his music already.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is a protégé ofSean Combs/P. Diddy (whose doppelganger he could be).
He graduated High School at the age of 16.
He does a killer Ray Charles impression.
He has been compared to R. Kelly and Stevie Wonder.
His voice has a hopeful exuberance and rhythm that endears itself to listeners.
His debut single 'Birthday Sex' peaked at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100.
'Birthday Sex' ranked #3 on BET's Notarized: Top 100 Videos of 2009.
His first album debuted at number six on the US Billboard 200 and sold 59,000 copies in its first week.
He performed 'Just Go' with Lionel Richie on an episode of 'One Life to Live.'
'Birthday Sex' became the first non-Top 10 song in years to simultaneously have the greatest airplay gain and digital download gain.
His famous single has more or less become a staple 'birthday anthem' with Hip-Hop/R&B enthusiasts.
