    Bought the Vincent Van Gogh painting 'The Red Vineyard' -- the only painting he sold during his life (1890)

    She was born into wealth and privilege.
    She eventually sold 'The Red Vineyard,' claiming it was so good that it inhibited her own painting.
    She is remembered less for her own career than as a footnote to Van Gogh's.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She was the only female member of the Belgian avant-garde art group Les XX.
    She accumulated one of the most important collections of impressionist and post-impressionist art of her day.
    In her will, she established a fund to support poor artists in their retirement.
