Published 'The Voyages of the Beagle,' 'The Descent of Man,' and 'The Origins of the Species'

Why he might be annoying:

Although he is credited with the 'Theory of Evolution,' he did not invent this theory, but gave it reason and popularized it.
He studied Theology in Cambridge and now is an enemy of theologians who believe in Creation rather the Evolution.
He married his cousin, Emma Wedgewood.
It was strange that he published a scientific book 'Origin of the Species' with no footnotes (1859).
He published two major editions of 'Origin of the Species,' the first was 1836-1858 and the second 1859-82.
He was a vegetarian.
He suffered from depression.
In his diary, he kept a log of the state of his health for the day.

Why he might not be annoying:

His mother died when he was eight and he was brought up by his sister.
He studied nature in South America and the South Pacific.
In the Origin of the Species, he discusses Natural Selection and Survival of the Fittest, which helped explain Evolution.
He said 'A man who dares to waste an hour of life has not discovered the value of life.'
He took the hypothesis of evolution, and provided a sufficient cause (Natural Selection) to make it a viable theory.
Many of his scientific publications were extremely detailed.
