Why he might be annoying:

    His affair with war poet Siegfried Sassoon fizzled out over his promiscuity, with Sassoon asking in his diary, 'Am I only one of P's regular succession of 'affairs'?'
    He left the technical university at Darmstadt without completing a degree.
    He joined the Nazi Party (1930), followed by the Brown Shirts (1932) and the SS (1933).
    He served as Hitler's art agent in Italy, purchasing so many art treasures that the Italian government eventually prohibited sales to foreigners.
    As governor of Hesse-Nassau, he handed over the Hadamar psychiatric hospital to the Reich Interior Ministry for conversion into one of the killing facilities for the T-4 euthanasia program (1941).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was wounded in battle in World War I.
    He ran a successful interior design business between the World Wars.
    He fell out of favor with Hitler after delivering an honest assessment of the military situation in Italy (1943)
    He and his wife were arrested and placed in concentration camps over suspicion that they had been involved in removing Mussolini from power (September 8, 1943).
    His wife died from injuries suffered during an Allied bombing attack on a munitions factory located next to her concentration camp barracks.
    His third cousin, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was named after him.
