The Resume

    (November 23, 1922-May 29, 1986)
    Born in Berlin, Germany
Portrayed child murder victim Elsie Beckmann in Fritz Lang's 'M' (1931)
Portrayed Pony Hütchen in 'Emil and the Detectives' (1931)
Acted in 'Bookkeeper Kremke (1930),' 'Louise, Queen of Prussia (1931),' 'Love Can Lie (1937),' 'The Girl of Last Night (1938),' 'Women Are Better Diplomates (1941),' 'Gaspary's Sons (1948),' and 'I'll Never Forget That Night (1949)'

Why she might be annoying:

She was called the German 'Shirley Temple.'
She had a decades long career but is only remembered for her five minutes in the start of 'M.'
In her later years she worked primarily in the German-dubbing of English-language films and television (including several Disney films and Barbara Bel Geddes on Dallas).
She continued to work in the wartime film industry under Hitler and the Third Reich (although she likely didn't have much control over the situation).

Why she might not be annoying:

Her performance in 'Emil and the Detectives' made her a national treasure.
She was discovered by German movie star Henny Porten, who spotted her playing in a sandpit.
She voiced over Sophia Loren, Shelley Winters, and Esther Williams.
She provided the German-language voice of Wilma on The Flintstones.
Her offscreen death at the hands of Peter Lorre's Murderer in M remains one of the most unsettling intros of any movie (it hits at every parent's worst nightmare: child abduction).
