    Appeared on the West End stage in 'No Sex Please, We're British' and 'It Runs in the Family'
    She began acting at age three, in a theater owned by her parents.
    She was divorced.
    She frequently broke up during performances, calling herself 'one of the great gigglers on stage.'
    Her stage career lasted over eight decades.
    She appeared in everything from Shakespeare and Moliere to holiday pantomimes, quipping 'I'll do anything as long as they pay me.'
    She received an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for entertaining members of the Merchant Marine during World War II, both in shipboard revues and as hostess of the radio program 'Shipmates Ashore.'
