He joined the Communist party (1919).
Novelist Mario Vargos Llosa described the 'classic Grosz elements' as 'dead people, prostitutes, perverted millionaires.'
He died from a drunken fall down a flight of stairs.
His collection of satiric drawings, 'Gott Mit Uns (God With Us),' was ordered destroyed for insulting the German army (1920).
He quit the Communist party after a five-month tour of famine-stricken areas of the Soviet Union (1922).
An outspoken anti-Nazi, he fled Germany just before Hitler came to power.
