The Resume

    (March 18, 1905-October 22, 1985)
    Born in Zanesville, Ohio
Discovered the Biefeld-Brown Effect, aka, electrohydrodynamics
The effect is when air is ionized, it exerts force which can be used to propel a craft along the ground or through the air

Why he might be annoying:

The effect has never been shown to be an effective method of propulsion. It requires a large amount of electricity and a very low ratio of power output to performance, as little as one percent.
With no evidence whatsoever, some ufologists claim the Biefeld-Brown Effect is how UFO's are powered, although Brown never made that claim.
The effect is not an anti-gravity device as some claim.
His daughter allowed a fanciful biography of him to be written that claims he was a spy.
Others claim that he was part of the 'Philadelphia Experiment,' which has long since been demonstrated as not ever happening.
He has been made into another Nikola Tesla with a cottage industry springing up claiming he made numerous inventions in the fields of electricity, and other types of power, anti-gravity devices, time travel, etc. which have been covered up by mysterious government agencies.
He spent many years working on classified government projects, which really gives the conspiracy nuts something to work with.

Why he might not be annoying:

He made his discovery when he was just sixteen years old and without the benefit of a college education. For contrast, his co-discoverer of the effect, Paul Alfred Biefeld was 63 years old, a college professor, and had a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zurcih.
The discovery was in fact a major leap forward in physics.
He voluntarily spent much of his work career (including a tour in the U.S. Navy) working for his country for low pay and little recognition.
He kept his private life private.
It's not his fault people make up stories about him.
