    (1474-June 14, 1497)
    Born in Rome, Italy
Son of Pope Alexander VI and Vannozza Dei Cattanei
Older brother of Cesare and Lucrezia
    2nd Duke of Gandia
    Murdered at 23
He was one of the many children born to the Pope from various women in the same year.
He wed his dead half-brother's ex-fiancee.
He bedded his youngest brother Gioffre's gorgeous wife Sancha.
After dinner with Cesare, he headed for Rome's ghetto to 'amuse himself,' never to be seen alive again.
The next morning, his corpse was fished out of the Tiber River, with his throat slit and vicious stab wounds covering his body.
The circumstances of his death remained unclear, with no witnesses and several suspects.
Cesare, infamous for his ruthlessness, emerged a suspect due to his desire for power and his own affair with Sancha.
A denizen of the Roman ghetto was also named a person of interest in the murder after Giovanni 'amused himself' with the man's young daughter.
Distraught over his son's killing, the Pope made a short-lived vow to end his penchant for nepotism.
