    Appeared in the films 'Burma Convoy' (1941), 'The Gay Falcon' (1941), 'The Mummy's Tomb' (1942), 'Arabian Nights' (1942), 'Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves' (1944), 'The Climax' (1944), 'Night in Paradise' (1946), 'Adventures of Casanova' (1948), 'The Amazing Mr. X' (1948), 'Prisoners of the Casbah' (1953) and 'Virtual Combat' (1995)
    His birth year is given in some sources as 1919 or 1920.
    Like frequent co-star Maria Montez, he was typecast in 'exotic' roles.
    Katharine Hepburn dismissed him as 'a poor man's Valentino.'
    While dating Lana Turner, he got into a fight with her ex-husband, Stephen Crane, then broke up with her.
    He and his family fled Austria after the Anschluss with Nazi Germany (1938).
    After arriving in America, he was introduced to Albert Einstein by his uncle, a mathematician who worked with the scientist. Bey and Einstein maintained a close friendship over the years.
    When his acting career cooled off, he took up photography, which earned him a spot on an archeological expedition to Tibet.
    After four decades off the screen, he returned to acting in the 1990s with parts in the TV series 'Babylon 5' and 'seaQuest DSV.'
