He memorably portrayed journalist Edward R. Murrow in ‘Good Night, and Good Luck.’
While playing Murrow, he managed to smoke over two packs of cigarettes a day without getting hooked.
He is reportedly modest and down-to-earth.
On movie sets, he learns the names of all crew members, and even helps them to take down the equipment.
