    He is widely viewed as a bust by baseball pundits.
    The Pirates passed on players like Prince Fielder, Nick Swisher, Jeff Francis, Scott Kazmir, Khalil Greene and Jeff Francoeur to take him.
    He spent the entire 2006 season on injury reserve.
    He was an example of a Dave Littlefield's squandering of the team's lottery picks.
    He had an ERA of 13.50 during his rookie season.
    He is the first player in the history of the Mid-American Conference to be drafted 1st overall in a pro sports draft.
