Why he might be annoying:

He was best known for playing a moron.
Most of his lines in ‘The Dukes of Hazzard' were the same, such as proclaiming ‘Good News! Good News!' calling a deputy a ‘dipstick,' accusing someone of scuffing his vehicle, or calling Boss Hogg his ‘fat little buddy.'
Almost every time he wrecked his patrol car, he would say, ‘What a horrendous crash.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was widely regarded as one of the best acting coaches of his era.
He was always prepared, often helped his younger co-stars, and said to be the only person on The Dukes of Hazzard that never forgot his lines.
Catherine Bach became nervous when shooting the pilot, and he played a practical joke on her to loosen her up.
He taught at several colleges.
He was adopted.
When a director asked him to shed a tear for a scene, with a straight face he asked, ‘My left eye or my right eye?'
He was an accomplished artist.
