He was one of professional football's nomadic quarterbacks, as he played on seven teams across four leagues.
His NFL career only lasted one game.
He turned down a chance to play for the Denver Broncos, when the team was a member of the AFL.
He was released from Orlando, after the team's new ownership refused to pay his high salary.
His CFL career was remembered for him being on teams that weren't good enough to make it to the Grey Cup game, nor make a deep playoff run.
He was a versatile player, as he also played the running back and place kicker positions.
He won three consecutive League MVP Awards while playing in the Continental Football League.
Following his release from the Panthers, he moved to the CFL, which he felt was the best option for his career.
He brought excitement to a floundering Blue Bombers club during the early 1970's.
He served as the first head coach of the football program at the University of Central Florida.
