The Resume

    (August 8, 1993-December 25, 2011)
    Born in Austin, Texas
High school student began making video blogs on YouTube in 2009
Gave relationship advice to peers and discussed dealing with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a serious heart muscle disease
Posted the wordless flash card video 'This is My Story' on YouTube December 16, 2011
Died of the disease a week later in Austin on Christmas Day 2011 at age 18

Why he might be annoying:

Let's face it - relationship advice is a dime a dozen.
He showed the red scar where a defibrillator was implanted in his chest on YouTube.
He had three near-death experiences, one when he was four, the second in the summer of 2011 and the third just 19 days before he died.
The third time he told of finding himself in a white room with no walls, filled with light, and dressed up along with his favorite rapper Kid Cudi.
He said of the experience, 'Right then, I woke up and the EMS were performing CPR. I didn't want to leave that place. I wish I never woke up.'
His favorite song was Kid Cudi's 'Mr. Rager,' complete with an ultra-violent music video.

Why he might not be annoying:

He had a loving support group of family and friends that were inspired with his brave attitude towards living life to its fullest.
His passions were wake boarding, wake surfing and water skiing.
Perhaps sensing the end was near, he made his 'This is My Story' video just 12 days after his last near-death experience, and one week before he died.
His two YouTube channels, OurAdvice4You and BreedloveTV, garnered more than 80,000 subscribers.
'This is My Story' has well over a million hits on YouTube.
His December 29th funeral was attended by over 1,400 mourners, and more than 11,000 witnessed it online.
Kid Cudi took to his blog and wrote, 'I am so sad about Ben Breedlove. I watched the video he left for the world to see, and him seeing me in detail, in his vision really warmed my heart. I broke down...Life is really fucked up sometimes, but I know Ben is at Peace, and I hope he gets a chance to sit and talk with my Dad. We love you Ben. Forever. Thank you for loving me. To Ben’s family, you raised a real hero, he’s definitely mine.'
