Gaming Console
    (July 1983-February 4, 1989)
    AKA Sega Game 1000
    Test marketed in Japan (1981)
Sold in US as SG-1000 Mark III (July 1984)
Final game release was Bomber Raid (February 4, 1989)
It did not use the Z80 chip but the NEC 780C clone. Eventually it upgraded to the authentic Z80.
It was limited to displaying 32 colors (but could be tricked into 64).
It was Sega's first gaming console. It was a forerunner for Sega's Master System.
Othello Multivision and Dina 2-in-1 were able to play SG-1000 games.
It allowed for primitive 3D graphics.
