    Appeared in the films ‘The Godfather’ (1972), ‘The Godfather Part II’ (1974), ‘Taxi Driver’ (1976), ‘Stay Hungry’ (1976), ‘Rocky’ (1976), ‘Paradise Alley’ (1978), ‘Starcrash’ (1978), ‘Rocky II’ (1978), ‘Cruising’ (1980), ‘Maniac!’ (1980), ‘Nighthawks’ (1981) ‘The Last Horror Film’ (1982), ‘Losin’ It’ (1983), ‘Walking the Edge’ (1985) and ‘The Undertaker’ (1988)

Why he might be annoying:

    He abused alcohol and cocaine.
    With his imposing build and looks, he was usually cast as Mafiosi, thugs, gang leaders, and corrupt police officers.
    His only leading roles came late in his career, most prominently in the slasher film ‘Maniac!’
    Serial killer John Wayne Gacy wanted Spinell to portray him if a movie was made about him.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a member of Joseph Papp’s Shakespeare Festival Theater.
    He was also a member of the Theater of the Forgotten, which staged plays in prisons for the inmates.
    He was a good friend of Sylvester Stallone and godfather to his son Sage.
    He was a hemophiliac who bled to death after slipping in the shower and cutting himself on the glass door of the shower stall.
