    Won three Tony Awards as Best Featured Actor in a Musical for ‘Sophisticated Ladies’ (1981), ‘The Tap Dance Kid’ (1984), and ‘Miss Saigon’ (1991)
    Also appeared on Broadway in ‘The Wiz’ (1975-79), ‘Dancin’’ (1978-82), Dreamgirls’ (1981-85), and ‘Chicago’ (1997-2004)
    Appeared in the films ‘Daddy’s Boys’ (1988) and ‘Dreamgirls’ (2006)

Why he might be annoying:

    His age when he debuted on Broadway in ‘The Wiz’ went from 18 in the original ‘Wiz’ Playbill to 16 in the ‘Miss Saigon’ Playbill to 15 on his webpage.
    When ‘The Wiz’ became a movie, he was replaced as the Scarecrow by Michael Jackson.
    He said about the dances he choreographed for the OutKast movie ‘Idlewild,’ ‘I put hip-hop and swing together and called it ‘swop.’’

Why he might not be annoying:

    He received a scholarship to the School of American Ballet and studied under George Balanchine.
    He choreographed and appeared in ‘Once More with Feeling,’ the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
    He choreographed ballets for the Baltimore School of the Arts and the Capital Ballet of Washington DC.
