Pitcher for the San Diego Padres (1969-1971), Houston Astros (1972-1975), Detroit Tigers (1976-1977), Chicago Cubs (1977-1978), San Francisco Giants (1979), Pittsburgh Pirates (1979-1980), Seattle Mariners (1980) and the New York Mets (1981)
Died of lung cancer at age 64

He shares his name with an infielder and a Los Angeles Dodgers manager.
He was a journeyman player.
He did not appear in the 1979 World Series in which the Pirates won in a 7 game series.
He surrendered a pitch to Hank Aaron's final career base hit and RBI.

Thankfully he never played as a teammate of the infielder of the same name.
He set an Astros record for career shutouts with 6 (1973).
He was left handed in throwing and batting.
He retired with 445 game appearances, 103 wins and 957 strikeouts resulted him as one of the all-time best Jewish pitchers in the majors .
He is buried at the same cemetery as Lefty Grove (Frostburg Memorial Cemetery).
