Why he might be annoying:

He used violence and guerrilla tactics to secure rights for workers.
Some of his demands and strong union tactics have severely weaken the employers.

Why he might not be annoying:

He believe that the weak should be represented.
He won an annual wage increase against General Motors (1948).
This was known as the AIF-COLA (Annual Improvement Factor-Cost of Living Allowance).
He won numerous benefits gains for the workers, the laid off and the retirees.
Some of his gains included health care and tuition refunds.
