Birth name is Elizabeth Jean Carroll
Writes the ‘Ask E. Jean’ advice column for ‘Elle’ magazine

Hosted an ‘Ask E. Jean’ show on America’s Talking (the predecessor channel to MSNBC)

Awarded $5 million when a jury found Donald Trump liable for sexual assault, battery, and defamation (May 9, 2023)

Why she might be annoying:

A ‘TV Guide’ reviewer of her cable show wrote that her ‘robotic hyperactivity drove me batty.’
In her own account of being assaulted by Trump, she conceded it was uncharacteristic for there to be no sales associates in the lingerie department and for the door to a dressing room being open. (Bergdorf Goodman normally keeps dressing room doors locked until a customer wants to try something on.)
Part of her explanation for why she had not gone public earlier: ‘I am a coward.’
Somehow, she found the courage to come forward when she had a book to promote.
She said she would not file rape charges against Trump because it would be ‘disrespectful to the women who are down on the border who are being raped around the clock down there without any protection.’ (Good luck on figuring out the logic behind that.)

Why she might not be annoying:

She won the Miss Cheerleader USA title (1964).
’Ask E. Jean’ was named one of the five best magazine columns by the Chicago Tribune (2003).
Her editor said, ‘She's institutionally incapable of being uninteresting.’
Two friends confirmed that she had told them about the assault by Trump when it allegedly happened. (One told her to go to the police; the other told her, ‘Tell no one!... He has 200 lawyers. He’ll bury you.’)
Another part of her explanation for why she had not gone public earlier: ‘Joining the 15 women who’ve come forward with credible stories about how the man grabbed, badgered, belittled, mauled, molested, and assaulted them, only to see the man turn it around, deny, threaten, and attack them, never sounded like much fun.’
When Trump dismissed her accusations by noting ‘She’s not my type,’ she responded, ‘I am SO glad I’m not his type.’
