The Resume

    (October 23, 1918-October 24, 2002)
    Born in Clinton, Iowa
Birth name was Mary Jeanette Moran
Appeared in the films ‘Gold Diggers in Paris’ (1938), ‘Rhythm of the Saddle’ (1939), ‘I Can’t Give You Anything But Love, Baby’ (1940), ‘The Mummy’s Hand’ (1940), ‘Horror Island’ (1941), ‘Drums of the Congo’ (1942), ‘King of the Cowboys’ (1943), and ‘Stage Door Canteen’ (1943)

Why she might be annoying:

She became an actress based on a prediction a psychic made to her when she was a child.
Her leading roles were in B movies.
Most of her appearances in A movies – such as portraying a cigarette girl in ‘Ninotchka’ (1939) – went uncredited.
She retired shortly after marrying director Henry Koster.

Why she might not be annoying:

Koster promised to include her in every movie he made; after she retired, he had a bust of her head sculpted and used it in all of his films.
She acquired a cult following for her roles in ‘The Mummy’s Hand’ and ‘Horror Island.’
Her ‘scream queen’ fame lasted long enough for her to be invited to the premier of ‘The Mummy Returns’ (2001).
She died one day after her 84th birthday of complications from injuries suffered in a car crash two months earlier.
