The Resume

    (August 20, 1992- )
    Born in Lynn, Massachusetts
‘Unique’ Adams on Glee (recurring in third and fourth season, regular in fifth season)
Runner-up on the first season of The Glee Project (2011)
Debut CD is ‘POWER’ (extended play)
Singles include ‘Show Me Love,’ ‘This Ain’t Over,’ and ‘Kill the Lights’

Why he might be annoying:

Since age six, he was raised by a single mother (whose closet he was not above raiding).
He went to a Catholic school, where one could count the total number of black students… on one hand.
He regarded Beyonce as an inspiration.
Once he came back from The Glee Project, he had a falling out with the old pastor of his church, over – what else? – his sexuality.
While he played the title role in the NBC comedy pilot ‘Imaginary Friend’ (2016), it was refused by the remaining networks and never became a series.

Why he might not be annoying:

The church and Bible ran in his family — mother and grandfather in the choir, father as deacon, and aunts in various other capacities.
Though it obviously did raise eyebrows in high school, he never had a serious personal struggle with his sexuality.
He regarded Donna Summer and Aretha Franklin as inspirations.
For the Glee episode ‘Guilty Pleasures,’ he channeled… Baby Spice!
Despite his numerous other influences, he admitted to never having any formal vocal training.
