Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He dropped out of the University of Denver to play in the Western Hockey League.
He became a journeyman player after he left the Oilers.
He did two separate stints with the Oilers and the Blues.
He played on four different teams during the 1996 calendar year.
He signed with his hometown Canucks, but was claimed off waivers by the Oilers out of spite for a 1982 waiver claim between the two teams.
He was charged with failing to pay $112,000 in child support for his son (2002).
Despite having a net worth of $600,000, he claimed he was too broke to pay his ex-girlfriend.
He was accused of being deliberately underemployed in order to maintain his high class lifestyle in the Caribbean.
Some hockey pundits felt his success with the Oilers was a result of playing alongside Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier.
He was one of seven ex-Oilers acquired by the New York Rangers during the team's 1994 Stanley Cup run.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a member of the Canadian Olympic men's hockey team (1980).
He was a member of all five Oiler Stanley Cup championship teams.
He perfected the 'crashing the net' style of play, made famous by the modern-day power forwards.
He was considered a clutch scorer by hockey pundits.
He played ten seasons with the Oilers, prior to a 1991 trade.
Although he was initially reluctant about re-joining the Oilers after being claimed off waivers, he served as a veteran presence to the team's younger players prior to a trade to St. Louis.
His #9 was retired by the Oilers franchise (October, 2008).
