Why Winnipeg Jets might be annoying:

They lost their first and last NHL games; the reincarnated version lost their first game, too.
They were the least successful of the four former WHA teams who made it to the NHL.
They were the second consecutive former WHA team to relocate to a different city.
They got past the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs only three times in their franchise history.
They set a franchise futility record by going on an 18 game winless streak (1980-81).
Their fanbase was forced to watch franchise players Dale Hawerchuk and Teemu Selanne get traded for little in return.
Their team was financially mismanaged during the late 1980's and early 1990's.
Despite their success in the WHA, they were inconsistent as an NHL franchise.
As a consequence for moving from Atlanta, the team endured brutal travel schedules as a result of competing in the Eastern Conference, and specifically the Southeast division.
The Winnipeg Arena was considered outdated by hockey standards, and the new MTS Center was the smallest venue in the NHL.

Why Winnipeg Jets might not be annoying:

They were one of the WHA's original franchises.
They were the first team to defeat the powerhouse Soviet Union team (1978).
They successfully lured Bobby Hull away from the NHL to play for them.
They defeated the Wayne Gretzky-led Edmonton Oilers to win the final Avco Cup in WHA history (1979).
Their success as a WHA franchise paved the way for them to become an NHL franchise.
They are credited with being the first team to scout heavily in the European countries.
Dale Hawerchuk and Teemu Selanne both won Calder Trophies as members of the Jets.
They made a huge profit in their first season back in Winnipeg, which was the equivalent of how much the team made in their first eleven seasons in Atlanta combined.
They proved that despite not having the large media market, they had a dedicated fanbase which was non-existent in Atlanta.
They succesfully lobbied the team's ownership group, True North Sports & Entertainment to use the Jets moniker when it was announced that Winnipeg would be getting a second crack at an NHL franchise.
