The Resume

Why Survivor 40: Winners at War might be annoying:

They let Mr. and Mrs. Mariano compete in the same game, even though no one else had a loved one with them in this game.
Why wasn’t Mike Holloway, J.T., or Cochran there?
They also did not present original Winners Richard Hatch and Tina Wesson.
Fan favorite Tom Westman wasn’t there, either.
They had to put up with Boston Rob trying to control the game prior to the merge.
All of the ‘old school’ players (the ones who debuted in the first 20 seasons) got voted out before the merge.
They brought back Edge of Extinction.
Almost everyone who played this season was either on the jury or in the finals.
Sandra was the only player this season not present at the Final Tribal Council (she raised the white flag upon arriving at the Edge).
Adam thought that a fixture on Jeff’s Tribal Council podium was really a secret immunity idol, and tried to play it!
Nick admitted that the season was ‘a bunch of lies and deceit.’
They saw the over-the-top Tony win the season.
Many of this season’s cast talked about how Survivor had caused psychological problems for them after their previous seasons ended.
Due to fears over COVID-19, there was no reunion show this time.
Jeff read the final votes from his garage.

Why Survivor 40: Winners at War might not be annoying:

They finally did an All-Winners season.
They introduced Fire Tokens, which players could use to buy food, supplies, or advantages from the bank, or each other.
According to Jeff, Rich Hatch wasn’t in the cast because producers couldn’t bear the thought of him playing naked again. (Hey, join the club!)
Boston Rob became the first ever five-time competitor.
They finally got Danni, Ethan, and Yul back on the show.
Amber and Ethan came back 16 years after their most recent season, setting a new record for longest wait between Survivor seasons.
The loved ones’ challenge was replaced this time by a family picnic in which everyone and their loved ones got to take part.
Even the players on Edge of Extinction got a visit from loved ones.
Jeremy became the first castaway ever to be excused from Tribal Council, thanks to an advantage that gave him immunity for one night in exchange for giving up that night’s vote.
Michele revealed on the show that she and Wendell used to date.
Jeff credited Denise with making the move of the season by playing a hidden idol to negate all the votes against her while taking Sandra out with one vote.
They gave the Winner $2 million for winning the tournament.
