    Co-host of Don Cherry’s Grapeline (1984-2019)
    Studio host for CFL coverage on CBC (1974-2005) and TSN (2006-21)
    Play-by-play announcer for Toronto Blue Jays baseball on CBC (1977-2004)
    Principal studio anchor for the Olympics on CBC (1984-2006) and CTV/TSN (2010-18)

Why he might be annoying:

    He had a nomadic childhood, as a result of his father’s profession.
    He shares his name with the American news anchor.
    He drew fire from some Olympic pundits for his decision to call out the IOC in regards to their decision not to give a proper memorial tribute on the 40th anniversary of the Israeli Olympic team members killed at the Munich games.
    He publicly announced his decision to leave his position at CBC after 32 years to go to rival network CTV over the internet (June 5, 2006).
    He was unceremoniously fired by the CBC three days later, after word of his departure became imminent.

Why he might not be annoying:

    His distinctive voice made him a popular figure in Canadian sports broadcasting.
    He worked as a teacher at a school in Grand Rapids, Michigan, prior to beginning his broadcasting career.
    He provided coverage in both Formula 1 and horse racing, along with his work with the CFL and the Blue Jays.
    He was a mainstay on CBC Sports for over 30 years, before going over to TSN.
    He covered every Olympic games across three networks between 1984 and 2018.
    He did a humorous skit with the other Brian Williams, upon meeting the latter face to face for the first time during the 2010 Winter Olympics.
    He co-hosted Don Cherry’s radio show 'Grapeline,' prior to the show's abrupt cancelation in 2019.
    He retired from broadcasting following a 50 year career in the media (2021).
