    Wrote the novels 'Under the Net,' 'The Flight from the Enchanter,' 'The Sandcastle,' 'The Bell,' 'A Severed Head,' 'An Unofficial Rose,' 'The Unicorn,' 'The Red and the Green,' 'A Fairly Honourable Defeat' and 'The Sacred and Profane Love Machine'
    Wrote the following works in philosophy: 'Sartre, Romantic Rationalist,' 'The Sovereignty of Good,' 'The Three Arrows,' 'The Fire and the Sun: Why Plato Banished The Artist,' 'The Existentialist Political Myth' and 'Metaphysics As A Guide To Morals'

    Her parents recorded the exact date that she was conceived.
    When she was nineteen she carried on a romantic correspondence with her own cousin, but they decided not to pursue a relationship after meeting.
    She was a member of the communist party for 5 years.
