Advocate

The Resume

    (circa 1983- )
    Resides in Miami, Florida
    Founder of End Revenge Porn
    PhD Student
Former statistical consultant at Florida International University
Became an advocate for 'Revenge Porn' victims after her ex-boyfriend continuously posted personal nude photos of her online
Appeared on NBC News, Fox News, Today and Katie

Why she might be annoying:

During her three-year relationship, she shared images of herself nude with her then boyfriend
She also participated in libidinous webcam chats as the latter portion of their relationship became long distance.
She had to legally change her moniker as her name became permanently linked to her salacious images online.
She dated that hell of an asshole for at three years.

Why she might not be annoying:

Some of her nude images appear to be screen caps (taken by her ex) during webcam sessions.
Her ex began his humiliation campaign by replacing her Facebook profile photo with a nude pic of her. (2008)
In 2009, the ex uploaded a video of her and titled it 'Masturbation 201 by Professor Holli Thometz' while she was working as a teaching assistant.
Her and fellow victims' initial efforts to get revenge porn recognized as abuse were met with lots of victim blaming as lawyers and police blamed her. ('The photos are his property...You shouldn't be taking in the first place, so I hoped you learned your lesson.')
She went public with her very embarrassing problem in hopes to make revenge porn illegal.
She calls out revenge porn sites for not only allowing bitter exes to upload private pics but for allowing the villains to post personal stats (addresses, workplace information, email addresses, Facebook profile pages etc.) on the subjects.
She also targets hosting sites like GoDaddy.com for providing domains for 'revenge porn' sites.
She also educates the public on the after effects revenge porn has on the victim, including post-traumatic stress disorder; inability to find employment; social stigma and stalking.
As of October 2013, California has passed legislation to make revenge porn illegal with a conviction of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine; but only applies to pics taken by someone other than the victim (not 'selfies').
She is working to have the law expanded all throughout the United States - and include 'selfie' shots.
Her organization's web site offers support for other victims of what she calls 'cyber rape.'
Her story will likely make people more careful about pictures they share.
