She drank two gallons of water in a radio contest titled 'Hold Your Wee for a Wii,' (a Nintendo video game system).
She came in second, losing both the game and her life.
The winner drank more water than she did, and survived.
Death by drinking too much water is bizarre.
The radio station deejays ignored warnings from a nurse who phoned in warning that the contest was dangerous.
She signed a waiver releasing the radio station of any responsibility for any negative outcome of the incident, yet her family is suing.
Ironically the station is known as 'The End.'
The three radio deejays running the contest got fired along with seven other radio station employees who helped coordinate the contest.
Her family called for an FCC investigation to revoke KDND's license.
Her death at the age of 28 left her three children motherless and her husband a widower.

She wanted to win the Wii for her young sons.
She was not made fully aware of the risks of the contest.
She consumed nearly 2 gallons of water before urinating.
Although her death was painful, it came within hours of the stunt.
Her story educated the public about the dangers of drinking too much water; before that, many never knew about water intoxication.
