Celebrity's Relative
    (July 29, 1949- )
    Born in Indianapolis, Indiana
    Birth name was Marilyn Tucker
    Married to Dan Quayle
She had a retro hairdo that made her look like Laura Petrie from The Dick Van Dyke Show.
When her husband was accused of sleeping with a lobbyist, she said, 'Anyone who knows Dan Quayle knows he would rather play golf than have sex any day.'
In defending Dan's oft-maligned intellect, she said, 'Franklin Roosevelt was a lousy student. He failed the bar exam seven times.' Actually, FDR passed the bar exam the first and only time he took it.
She and her parents were followers of far, far right wing preacher Col. Robert Thieme, Jr., who wore his Air Force uniform in the pulpit and declared the imminence of Armageddon.
When questioned about Thieme, she said that religion was a private matter, but during the 1992 campaign she said it was 'very significant' that Bill and Hillary Clinton went to separate churches.
She wrote a bad novel, 'Embrace the Serpent,' which despite the promising title, was not about a sex-laden voodoo rite, but instead was a political thriller about (spoiler alert!) a Republican hero and Democratic villain.
She urged women to stay at home with their children but was frequently away from her family campaigning and fundraising for Dan.
When her first child was due to be born on the day of the bar exam, she had labor induced early so she could take the test.
She told reporters that when her husband first ran for Congress, 'I made all the decisions.'
She was spokesperson for the National Cancer Institute's Breast Cancer Summit.
Commenting on the 60s, she said, 'Not everyone demonstrated, dropped out, took drugs, joined in the sexual revolution or dodged the draft.'
