The Resume

    (June 20, 1915-September 7, 1994)
    Born in Shanghai, China
Birth name was Shaun Terence Young
Best known for directing the James Bond films ‘Dr. No’ (1962), ‘From Russia with Love’ (1963) and ‘Thunderball’ (1965)
Also directed ‘Corridor of Mirrors’ (1948), ‘Paratrooper’ (1953), ‘Safari’ (1956), ‘Tank Force’ (1958), ‘The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders’ (1965), ‘Wait Until Dark’ (1967), ‘The Amazons’ (1973), ‘The Klansman’ (1974) and ‘Inchon’ (1981)

Why he might be annoying:

He thought the Bond franchise would never last beyond three films.
The British Film Institute commented, ‘The uninspired quality of much of his output suggests a director who wasn't really trying.‘
He ‘won’ a Razzie as worst director for ‘Inchon.’
He edited (and may also have directed)‘The Long Days,’ a six-hour telenovela about the life of Saddam Hussein, for Iraqi television (1980).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a tank commander and intelligence officer during World War II.
He directed the film that launched one of the most successful franchises in film history.
Lois Maxwell (‘Miss Moneypenny’) noted that he remolded Sean Connery in his own image: ‘Terence took Sean under his wing. He took him to dinner, showed him how to walk, how to talk, even how to eat.’
He was back behind the camera half an hour after being rescued from a helicopter that had crashed into the ocean while filming a scene in ‘From Russia with Love.’
