Religious Figure
    (July 31, 1892-January 16, 1986)
    Born in Des Moines, Iowa
Founded the Worldwide Church of God (1933)
Hosted 'The World Tomorrow' on radio and television (later replaced as host by his son Garner)
Wrote 'Does God Heal Today?' (1952), 'The United States and Britain in Prophecy' (1954), '1975 in Prophecy!' (1956) and 'Mystery of the Ages' (1985)
He predicted that Christ's return would occur at the end of WWII. Or by 1975. Or within Armstrong's lifetime. Or....
He discouraged followers from going to doctors because medical science was of 'pagan origin.'
He believed that the British were descendants of the Lost Tribes of Israel.
His views on divorce suddenly became a lot more liberal just before he married a divorcee.
He lived extravagantly off the tithes from church members.
His PAMPHLETS mixed all CAPITAL and lower case words seemingly at RANDOM.
The name 'The World Tomorrow' was inspired by the 'World of Tomorrow' theme of the 1939 World's Fair.
He founded the Ambassador International Cultural Association, which funded mobile schools and fought against illiteracy.
He accurately predicted that the Soviet bloc would break up with several of its members joining a United States of Europe.
