The Resume

    Formed in Homewood, Alabama (1998)
Members include Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman (Roads), Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook
Songs include 'Girl Crush,' 'Day Drinking,' 'Tornado,' 'Pontoon,' 'Little White Church,' 'Bring It On Home' and 'Boondocks'

Why they might be annoying:

Their name was inspired by a music publishing company (Little Big Town Music Group).
The song 'Girl Crush' generated a great deal of controversy.
Many country music fans misinterpreted 'Girl Crush's' lyrics, accusing the song of essentially being a lesbian love anthem.
A 'surprise' album produced by Pharrell Williams unsurprisingly flopped, debuting at #103 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.
They really wanted to do a guest spot...on 'Sesame Street.'

Why they might not be annoying:

They're known for their incredible vocal harmonies.
They twice won Grammys for Best Country Duo/Group Performance ('Pontoon' & 'Girl Crush').
They scored more than a dozen top 40 hits on Billboard's US Hot Country singles chart.
Prior to achieving the majority of their success, their future was up in the air following the death of Kimberly's husband (also the band's lawyer, in 2005).
Karen Fairchild defended 'Girl Crush', criticizing the 'closed mindedness' of the song's haters, and asking, what would be the big deal if it was a love song about two women?
