Why they might be annoying:

Between 1965-69, they went by several different names, including The Romeos, Señor Soul and Nightshift.
Burdon used them as a 'next phase' band after leaving The Animals.
Their record producer insisted they incorporate Danish born Oskar into the band.
In 1971, Burdon left them in the middle of a European tour, rejoined them in the U.S., then quit for good.
Dickerson quit in 1978, Oskar in 1992, and Scott and Brown in 1997.
Since 1969, they've been though over 30 different 'non-original' band members.

Why they might not be annoying:

They're multifaceted, having recorded pop, funk, soul, Latin, jazz, blues, reggae, and disco music.
'Spill the Wine' was a #3 hit on the Billboard Singles charts in 1970.
The album 'The World is a Ghetto' sold over 3 million copies and was one of the best sellers of 1973.
'Low Rider' is huge in the 'low rider community.'
In The Simpsons episode where Homer is to fight boxer Dredrick Tatum, his ring entrance music is 'Why Can't We Be Friends?'
Rappers have sampled their music, and in 1992 the album 'Rap Declares Wars' featured 2Pac, The Beastie Boys, Ice-T and De La Soul singing their songs hip-hop style.
