The Resume

    (March 17, 1928-June 8, 2018)
Born in Croydon, Surrey, England, United Kingdom
Portrayed Sylvia Trench, James Bond’s girlfriend, in ‘Dr. No’ (1962) and ‘From Russia with Love’ (1963)
Also appeared in the films ‘My Brother Jonathan’ (1948), ‘To Have and To Hold’ (1951), ‘Dance, Little Lady’ (1954), ‘Carry On Admiral’ (1957) and ‘The Revenge of Frankenstein’ (1958)
Panelist on the game show ‘Guess My Story’ (1954)
Appeared in London productions of ‘The Sound of Music’ (1962), ‘Uproar in the House’ (1968), ‘An Ideal Husband’ (1980) and ‘Into the Woods’ (1990-91)

Why she might be annoying:

She was originally cast as Miss Moneypenny, but was replaced before filming started by Lois Maxwell.
She was meant to be a regular in the Bond franchise (with a recurring joke of her dates with Bond constantly being cut short when he gets called to duty), but director Guy Hamilton cut Sylvia Trench from the third film, ‘Goldfinger.’
Her voice in her two Bond films was overdubbed by Nikki van der Zyl.
The news teaser used for her obituary – ‘First Bond girl dies’ – probably had most viewers thinking Ursula Andress had died.

Why she might not be annoying:

She trained as an opera singer.
On the first day of shooting ‘Dr. No,’ she took an anxious Sean Connery out for a couple of drinks to settle his nerves.
Her character is the first one to elicit the famed line, ‘Bond, James Bond.’
Her daughter Kate made a cameo appearance in the casino scene in the Bond film ‘GoldenEye’ (1995).
