Why they might be annoying:

On records, their name was spelled with a '-dos' ending in Britain, '-does' in America.
They were one-hit wonders in the US.
Shortly after the success of 'Telstar,' the band began breaking up as Meek convinced Heinz to launch a solo career.
The last original member quit in 1965, but Meek hired a new batch of musicians to carry on.

Why they might not be annoying:

'Telstar' hit #1 in the US and UK and sold over five million singles.
They were the first British band to top the US charts, beating the British invasion by over a year.
Clem Cattini became one of the most in-demand session musicians in England, playing on 44 UK #1 singles.
George Bellamy is the father of Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy.
