Why PeoplePC Online might be annoying:

Its name sounds communist.
A better way to Internet? Internet is not a verb!
They advertised that their customers could get a second e-mail address without telling them that it would up their monthly fee.
It works terribly with Linux, if at all.
The FCC forced it to pay a civil penalty of $100,000 for refusing to give customers their cancellation refunds (2002).
Critics say their low cost is due to their crappy customer support and software.
It was bought out by Earthlink (2004).

Why PeoplePC Online might not be annoying:

They have low monthly fees.
They have over 8,000 access numbers.
They employ a 'Smart Dialer' to give the fastest number possible to those trying to connect.
It was the first low cost internet service to give out free call waiting included with its software (2005).
