Why he might be annoying:

    His stores sell tobacco.
    His company was sued by a local preservation group when he tore down historic Freihofer buildings to build his own structure, disrespecting the protest of the community.
    His son, Jack, took over the family business and changed the name to Jack Eckard Corporation (scumbag!).
    The chain of Eckerd stores has become a subsidiary of JC Penney.
    He has a boring history and his stores didn't really take off until his son took over.
    The standard Eckerd drug store is plain and dirty looking.
