Why he might be annoying:

He was the second president to die in office.
Polk's term ended mid-day March 4, 1849.
Taylor was not allowed to take the oath of office until Monday March 5th, so on Sunday March 4th 1849 the United States did not have a president.
Unofficially Atchison was President.
Nothing of significance happened during his administration.
His legs were so short that he needed help to get on his horse.
He owned 100s of slaves.
He never registered to vote. He didn't even vote in his own election.

Why he might not be annoying:

He wanted the United States to admit California as a state.
Although he was a slave owner he wanted to outlaw slavery.
