    Died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound
    Her parents spent her college fund on her flying lessons.
    She suffered airsickness from turbulence during her cross-country trip and dizziness from the altitude during her Atlantic crossing.
    She battled depression but refused to take medication for it.
    She spent two years with the Peace Corps in Moldova.
    She commented, 'When I started flying, I never even thought I would go up to Erie, 30 miles north of us.'
    She said of her trans-Atlantic flight, 'I always thought it would be real hard and it was.'
    Her mother said, 'She had more guts than any of us could ever imagine.'
