The Resume

    (May 14, 1907-December 16, 1995)
    Born in Marshall, Texas
Three-time winner of the Main Event at the World Series of Poker (1970-71,1974)
Won nine World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets
    Won $834,422 in WSOP tournaments

Why he might be annoying:

His most famous game – a five-month long poker marathon against Nick ‘the Greek’ Dandolos in which Nick lost between $2 and $4 million before conceding, ‘Mr. Moss, I have to let you go’ – probably never happened.
Reasons for suspicion: Moss claimed the game took place in 1949 at the Horseshoe Casino, but the Horseshoe did not open until 1951; there were no contemporary reports of the game, with the story first being told by Moss five years after Dandolos died; and Benny Binion, who allegedly sponsored the match, refused to answer questions about it, saying ‘My memory ain’t what it used to be.’
His skill in cards did not carry over to dice: he once lost $500,000 playing craps in a Vegas casino.

Why he might not be annoying:

As a teen, he was hired by a local saloon to watch over games and make sure none of the players were cheating.
At 81, he became the oldest winner of a WSOP bracelet when he won the Ace to Five Draw tournament (1988).
He was an inaugural inductee into the Poker Hall of Fame (1979).
