Basketball Player
Some football pundits felt he was too undersized coming out of Northern Arizona University.
He spent the entire 1988 season out of football.
His NFL career was brief, as he served as an injury replacement in all three games he played.
He was injury prone during his CFL career.
He was kept on the Redskins roster as a result of owner Jack Kent Cooke giving him an inflated signing bonus that made it impossible to cut him.
Earlier in his career, he backed out of a commercial being filmed in Winnipeg, due to not being able to handle the city's harsh winter climate.
He was instrumental in helping the Bombers win their first Grey Cup in 22 years (1984).
He holds the Northern Arizona University school record for career rushing yards.
He returned to Winnipeg at the end of his career and became a naturalised Canadian citizen (1990).
He was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame (2002).
Both his sons followed him into athletics as his oldest son, Ryan is an NHL player and youngest son Jordan is a basketball player in the Canadian college ranks.
Following his playing career, he pursued a career in law enforcement in the Winnipeg area.
