Why he might be annoying:

He was expelled from the San Carlos Academy of Fine Arts for leading a student riot.
When his common-law wife Angelina became pregnant, he left her for a Russian painter, Marievna Vorobiev.
When Marievna became pregnant, he left her and returned to Angelina.
He eventually left both of them to return to Mexico.
He had an affair with the sister of his second common-law wife, Guadalupe.
He was a Communist.
He boasted that he was responsible for luring Leon Trotsky to Mexico and his assassination.
His mural 'Man at the Crossroads' was removed from Rockefeller Center because it contained a portrait of Lenin.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was expelled from the Communist party for criticizing the Soviet Union.
He painted frescoes because he felt art should be accessible to the masses.
His works mixed influences from post-Impressionism, Cubism and Aztec art.
